I use stamps and other tools to add patterns and texture to my work. A view of my studio. I use a Shimpo wheel and an L&L electric kiln. This vase was trimmed to tidy up the bottom, then hand-carved with a trimming tool. Unloading a bisque firing My glaze effects are often achieved by layering multiple glazes. It's always a bit of a surprise how they interact, blend, and streak on different forms. Most of my work is thrown on the wheel, but I love making small slab-built trays for soap dishes and snack plates. Table full of warm pots after unloading a glaze firing. Test tiles marching on parade! I do lots of tests to see how the glazes interact with different clay bodies, and with each other.
